Why Have I Been Diagnosed With Metallosis?

DePuy hip implants may cause a serious condition known as metallosis.  Metallosis occurs when the metal-on-metal movement of a hip ball and socket causes friction and the eventual release of metal particles into the joint, surrounding tissue, and bloodstream.  At high levels, cobalt and chromium can cause rashes and nerve damage.

According to a recent British study, 22 of 660 patients (3.4%) who received DePuy ASR hip implants experienced adverse reactions to metallic particles.  A study of 155 patients who received a competitor's hip implant did not reveal similar reactions.

The trial lawyers at Bottar Law, PLLC, have decades of experience investigating, prosecuting and trying to verdict product liability cases stemming from injuries caused by products that have been recalled because they are defective.  If you or a loved one have a DePuy hip, you and your family may be entitled to compensation for lifelong health care, medical expenses, medical bills, loss of income, and pain and suffering.
